During Open Studios, October 11-12, 2014, Wendeanne Ke’aka Stitt will be showing several of her Hawaiian kapa cloth quilts in her studio at 322 Chestnut Street between Lincoln and Maple streets in downtown Santa Cruz. Stitt, who received a 2013 Creative Work Fund grant to create original kapa garments for six dancers in the Academy of Hawaiian Arts, will be offering an assortment of tiny quilts for sale along with an array of string bags made from vintage aloha fabrics. Visitors are welcome between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
