The San Francisco Aerial Arts Festival, Record Twenty Twenty is premiering on film on December 19 and 20, and features a number of Creative Work Fund grantees from prior years, including composers Walter Kitundu and Marcus Shelby, and choreographers/dance companies Bandaloop, Jo Kreiter, and Zaccho Dance Theatre. Gravity Access Services, a project of Jess Curtis/GRAVITY is providing audio description for the visually impaired, and Jess, too, is a former Creative Work Fund grantee. The festival may be viewed on Vimeo. Panel discussions with the featured artists are hosted on Facebook on December 19 at 11 a.m. and December 20 at 4 p.m.
The festival captures aerial performers response to the pandemic period, and it’s not to be missed for its combination of spectacle and quiet contemplation.
