Following publication of his warmly-received The Public Library: A Photographic Essay, released by Princeton Architectural Press on April 8, Robert Dawson will appear in conversation with Luis Herrera, City Librarian, at the San Francisco Public Library at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. A book signing will follow their conversation.
Dawson’s Creative Work Fund project continues his exploration of libraries. Over the coming year he is collaborating with the Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin County to document and promote literacy efforts in San Joaquin county and the city of Stockton.
In the meantime, The Public Library: A Photographic Essay has been featured in reviews and articles on NPR’s Morning Edition, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, Design Observer, and other publications; and Dawson was selected for a 2014 Guggenheim Fellowship in Creative Arts/Photography.
