“Prelude” to 95 Rituals (for Anna Halprin) on January 23

On Friday, January 23, at 8 p.m., Shinichi and Dana Iova-Koga are joined by Mari Osanai, a guest teacher/dancer/choreographer from Aomori Japan to perform a “Prelude” to 95 Rituals, the work they are developing in response to groundbreaking choreographer Anna Halprin and in collaboration with Dancers’ Group. “Prelude” will be presented in Studio 1 of the Haas Pavillion at Mills College in Oakland. They will be accompanied by musicians Tim Kim, Mateo Lugo, Katherine MacDonald, and Suki O’Kane.
