Poetry Inside Out, a film directed by Joyce Lee in collaboration with the Center for the Art of Translation, is now available for viewing on KQED’s “Truly CA” playlist. Lee’s film, released in 2008, explores young people’s experiences growing up bilingual in San Francisco Bay Area schools and how they excel in classrooms featuring the Center’s Poetry Inside Out program that turns them into translators of short poems from international writers.
