Artist and master quilter Patricia Montgomery collaborating with the African American Museum and Library at Oakland to create a series of story quilts, Forgotten Heroines of the Civil Rights movement. The 20 quilts will be sewn into swing coats, each representing an unsung heroine, and will be installed when exhibited at the height of an average adult, suggesting that the character represented by the coat is marching in a demonstration.
