Kathleen Rose Smith’s newly released Enough for All: Foods of My Dry Creek Pomo and Bodega Miwuk People shares how food traditions of her ancestors were handed down through generations.  Smith and her collaborating organization, Heyday Books, have announced two coming book launch events on Sunday, June 1, 2-4 pm, at the Sonoma County Museum in Santa Rosa; and Friday, June 13, at 7 pm at Copperfield’s Books in Healdsburg. The Sonoma County Museum event includes a food tasting.

Kathleen Rose Smith is of Bodega Miwuk/Dry Creek Pomo ancestry and a member of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. She grew up in the Healdsburg area. An artist from childhood, she graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1977. Over the years she has held diverse jobs–among them as foods columnist for News from Native California. In Enough for All she reveals her deep knowledge of Native California food traditions and shares how those traditions have evolved into contemporary ways her family still enjoys wild foods.
