Sound artist and composer Hugh Livingston, who collaborated with Russian Riverkeeper to create new work responding to the Russian River, is exhibiting new river works at Hammerfriar Gallery, on June 1. Points of View: Russian River, a multi-media gallery installation explores elements of color and texture and sound extracted from the Sonoma County environment. The artist’s landmark invention for this show is “A Periodic Table of Sonoma Elements,” highlighting 118 individual components of the Sonoma soundscape that will be presented as an interactive installation, allowing visitors to assemble their own sound environment from Livingston’s recordings.
