On Friday, August 15, at 8 p.m., Main Stage West in Sebastopol is previewing “Hand to Mouth,” a new work developed by John Duykers and First Look Sonoma collaborating with Occidental Art and Ecology Center. The work is inspired by the seed’s journey from the soil to the plate, including all of the trials and tribulations as well as the pleasures of farming, cooking, singing, and living hand to mouth. The recital incorporates spoken dialogue inspired by Michael Pollan’s Food Rules as well as original songs and musical interludes created by composer Miguel Frasconi.
