Musician Gautam Tejas Ganeshan created dozens of new songs in the Carnatic South Indian tradition through his collaboration with Tree of Life/Subterranean ArtHouse. He now brings a concert of his “Story of This Place” compositions to Artist’s Television Access (ATA) for a 7 p.m. concert on February 12. The event announcement for Carnatic @ ATA: New Directions in Indian Classical Music notes: “South Indian music gets re-upped! Original songs along traditional lines + improvisations backed by tambura drone lutes + mridangam double drum & ghatam clay percussion.” Sliding scale ($7-$10) tickets are available. ATA is a small venue and purchasing tickets in advance is recommended.
