Chinese Whispers Bay Chronicles, a multimedia exhibition, exploring the 19th Century history of the Chinese shrimp fishing industry along the San Francisco Bay, has been extended until noon, January 15 at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park’s Visitor’s Center. The exhibit was developed and directed by artist Rene Yung, who collaborated with the SF Maritime National Historical Park. It incorporates material collected by a select group of artists and historians who sailed on the Grace Quan, a replica of an historic junk, among former shrimp camp sites on the San Francisco Bay. The immersive installation incorporates sound by Jeremiah Moore and video by Chihiro Wimbush. The visitor center is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.
