East Meets West Music has released Raga and Raj, as part of its Utsav! series of recordings celebrating the legacy of Ravi Shankar. Included is Eight Ragas, the 2010 composition developed through a Creative Work Fund collaboration among composer Barry Phillips, Linda Burman-Hall and Lux Musica Ensemble (of the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival). The recording includes a selection of experimental compositions that reflect and re-imagine musical encounters between North India and British traditions in the late 1700s.
