American Conservatory Theater collaborating with the Kronos Quartet on the development and workshop phase of The Difficulty of Crossing a Field, a new piece of music theater by playwright Mac Wellman and composer David Lang. Wellman’s libretto was based on a short story by Ambrose Bierce about a slave owner who disappears in the middle of an open field.
