Accion Latina is hosting a free, celebratory reading of the first two of Adriana Camarena‘s extended essays, “Unsettled in the Mission,” published in El Tecolote and supported by a grant from the Creative Work Fund. Camarena will read on Saturday, December 9, from 1-3 p.m. at Accion Latina in San Francisco’s Mission District. The pieces, “Looking for Indio in the Mission” and “Threading the Life of a Mayan” were published in print and online in the October 5 and November 2 issues of El Tecolote.
