Berkeley Art Center will collaborate with multidisciplinary artist Torreya Cummings (Lead Artist) and Sarah Lowe (Collaborating Artist) to create Black Point Reinterpretive Site, a large-scale immersive installation with ephemera, self-guided walking tour, and informational gallery guide publication. The gallery will be transformed into a “period room” staged in the middle of a faux redwood grove and stretched to encompass the resource-exploitation and “terraforming” that characterized the events of the Bay Area in the late 19th Century through an aggressive aesthetic of Victorian accumulation.
