Composer and sound installation artist Guillermo Galindo has been collaborating with photographer Richard Misrach and the San Jose Museum of Art to create Border Cantos, a cross-disciplinary exploration of the U.S.-Mexico border. The installation, which opens at the San Jose Museum of Art on Friday, February 26, 2016, features monumental landscapes by Misrach and hand-crafted musical instruments created by Galindo from found objects recovered at the border–such as those pictured here. During the course of the exhibition, which is on view through July 31, 2016, Galindo will perform on the instruments. Tickets to the exhibition are available.
