On April 3, Alonzo King LINES Ballet will premiere a new work developed in collaboration with natural soundscape artist Bernie Krause and composer Richard Blackford. For more than 40 years, Krause has traveled the globe with microphones tuned to the earth and its creatures. His vast archives catalogs the sonic imprint of entire ecosystems, forming an intricate living orchestra. In the new work, as the soundscape permeates the stage, the dancers’ habitat is transformed. Performances run through Sunday, April 12, with a special gala on Saturday, April 11. Tickets are available at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts box office.
