On Wednesday, March 25, the Luggage Store and Clare Rojas invite the public to a reception (6-6:30 p.m.) and artist talk (6:30-7:30 p.m.) between artist Clare Rojas and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art curator of painting and sculpture Janet Bishop at the Luggage Store’s temporary home, 998 Market Street (at Taylor). Also featured will be brief remarks by San Francisco’s Director of Cultural Affairs Tom DeCaigny, Frances Phillips from the Creative Work Fund, Luggage Store board member Matt Gonzalez, and Luggage Store Co-founders Laurie Lazer and Darryl Smith.
The event will culminate with a rooftop viewing (7:30-9 p.m.) of Clare Rojas’s mural “Promise,” illuminated by Elaine Buckholtz of Nighthouse Productions. Also featured will be music by DJ Primo and screening of Alex Kopps’ brief film about the making of “Promise.”
