In partnership with its community, the Police Department, and the City of East Palo Alto, Mural Music & Arts Project is about to install a new 220-foot mural in Jack Farrell Park, East Palo Alto. Developed through a collaboration with Edward (Scape) Martinez, the project’s purpose is to reclaim a police-identified “Hot Spot” as a “FIT Zone.” Martinez worked closely with neighborhood youth on creating this public artwork.
Project partners have been invited to make a special presentation to the East Palo Alto City Council on Tuesday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m.–a meaningful opportunity to share the youths’, artist’s, and nonprofit’s vision for transforming some of East Palo Alto’s hot spots into places for inspiration, reflection, and community change.
