On Saturday, August 24, from 4-7 p.m.–as part of the the closing of the California Historical Society‘s exhibit “Curating the Bay: Crowdsourcing a New Environmental History”–radio producer Julie Caine will be inviting the public to identify sounds of the Bay Area, collected through her Audiograph project. For a year, Caine has been inviting the public to collect and submit iconic Bay Area sounds that can be listened to through the KALW website and are being compiled into soundscapes–one for each of the nine Bay Area counties.
Also featured at the event, the California Historical Society invites guests to identify photos with live HistoryPin History Mystery challenges and to enjoy a sea shanty sing along. They write, “Win great prizes and take your final tour of “Curating the Bay.”
