On Thursday, June 27, 8-10 p.m., writer Kirk Read, author of How I Learned to Snap, brings the group reading/performance “Biggest Quake East Bay” to Subterranean Arthouse in downtown Berkeley. Read writes: “This will be a show of ideas and thoughts about the AIDS epidemic, many of which have not been shared in public before. Challenging, thought-provoking. Not a bummer. Magic and community building.” Originally presented as a series of free events in San Francisco in 2012, “Biggest Quake” was developed through workshops, led by Read in collaboration with eight other writers, Magnet, and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
