Teatro Vision announces the October 11 premiere of Departera, a new work by Evelina Fernandez that is directed by Elisa Marina Alvarado. Departera was developed out of stories collected from community members and offers a witty, modern take on Dia de los Muertos. Original music by Russell Rodriguez was part of the play’s development and is prominently featured in performances.
Departera runs through October 21 in the theater at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose. Performances are in English and Spanish. Tickets are available.
