The Palo Alto Art Center invites veterans and their families to contribute images and objects that relate to their military service for an art project and exhibition with veteran and ceramic artist Ehren Tool. For Containers of Community, Tool is creating a new body of work that honors local veterans and highlights their shared experience. The Center invites community members to drop off images and objects related to military service between April 15 and May 31. As an alternative, images can be e-mailed to [email protected]. Every effort will be made to return objects and images at the end of the project.
During Ehren Tool’s residency at the Art Center (June 7-29), he will incorporate contributed objects and images into ceramic cups that will be on view at the Center from July 1 through September 1, 2014 and ultimately distributed back to participating community members during a free community day–September 7.
Please note that only one cup per participant will be created and distributed.
